He has received awards for professional journalism and has served on political action committees for his profession.

Notwithstanding these accolades, Dr. Potter remains a humble, committed servant of our Lord Most High. His singular purpose in life is to share the Gospel message with the lost (those who have lost their way) and the unsaved (those who have never heard of Christ Jesus and His atoning sacrifice); and to specifically share the message the Lord has personally directed him to convey — that God has a magnificent obsession to redeem them and restore them as members of His divine family; to share His love that is so profound it can never be explained, only experienced; and finally, to let believers and unbelievers know that there is absolutely nothing on earth worth hanging onto, for everything we believe to be tangible shall be destroyed, while only the intangible – i.e., love, beauty, mercy, grace, etc., shall endure forever; and we shall be restored to eternal life.
